Such a pleasure to have sat down in this episode with renowned surfboard shaper Jim Banks at his stunning house on the hill in Uluwatu, Bali. Our conversation really is an in-depth look inside the world of surfboard shaping and how surfing culture has changed, coupled with Jim's personal journey as a surfer and a craftsman.

We opened the episode with a talk about the evolution of surfboard builders in the surfing industry.

Jim speaks candidly of how shapers are so often placed on the bottom rung of the surfing industry despite the importance that they bring in shaping the very boards these surfers ride.
