More than 50 years ago, a small group of surfers paddled into these waves for the very first time — planting the seeds of a culture that would one day help reshape the country’s global identity.

Today, El Salvador is recognized worldwide for its pristine beaches and world-class surf. But how did this transformation begin? Who were the pioneers? What was life like when surfing first arrived? And how did a simple board and wave become part of a nation’s healing story?

This documentary uncovers the untold origins of surf in El Salvador and the people who helped turn waves into hope.
