Today I take two Tri-Tip Steaks, to try to duplicate a traditional smoked and reversed seared tri-tip done on my Weber Kettle using my Slow 'N Sear 2.0, in my Ninja Foodi.
I smoked and reversed seared one tri-tip in my Kettle, and used liquid smoke and bbq rub on the 2nd tri-tip and cooked it in my Ninja Foodi. This is one experiment you don't want to miss!

Prep:
-Trim tri tip if necessary.
-Rub a few drops of the liquid smoke on the tri tip.
-Season heavily with your favorite bbq rub. Let tri tip sweat and seasoning or 30-45 min.
-Turn Foodi on to sear/saute on HI.
-Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to Foodi pan.
-Brown all sides of the tri tip.
-Place the rack in the pan and put the tri tip on the rack.
-Close the lid and air crisp for 10 min at 300F.
-Flip tri tip and air crisp for another 5 min at 300F.
-Temp of tri tip in the middle should be 130-135F for med rare.
-Let rest for 15 min and enjoy!
