Rescue teams are working to reach those still missing while also clearing a major highway connecting Kathmandu to the worst-hit areas. Authorities have issued fresh flood warnings after water levels rose in the Bhotekoshi River, urging residents to stay on high alert as the situation remains dangerous.

In towns like Galchhi, people sought higher ground on bridges as the river roared past, carrying large rocks and debris from earlier flooding. Along the riverbanks, homes, vehicles and farm tractors remain buried under thick sediment, while landslides have damaged rice terraces. Despite the rising death toll and thousands still missing, rescue crews continue their efforts under challenging conditions.
