Trains On Elevated Curves, How Many Cars Can 1 Locomotive Pull? CPKC Loco, CSX Signal Knocked Down

Описание: How Many Cars Can A Single CSX Or NS Locomotive Pull? Super Elevated Curve & Fast Trains. New Painted CPKC Locomotive On Norfolk Southern Train. Train Knocks Down The Signal As It Passes, Dropping From Green To Red. Includes Norfolk Southern Train At CSX Interchange Diverging Onto CSX.
We start at the CSX maintenance of way office where the line side signals are on green for a northbound train. Listen to the radio audio as the train passes the defect detector. This is Depot Street in Walton, Kentucky on the CSX Short Line. A single locomotive is pulling this train. Watch the signal drop from green to red as the train passes it. This is called "knocking down the signal" or "dropping the signal". It is railroad jargon.
Next, we watch a Norfolk Southern train booking around a super elevated curve. One rail is higher than the other to allow for a safer fast speed. This is Locust Street in Walton and only a mile north of the first train in this video. I met a hobo at this location who reminded me of my good friend Mark. I got to talk to him for a short time before a CSX train came on the nearby Short Line.
The CSX train was the daily local freight that comes from the spur that goes to Ghent, Kentucky. I tried to find a different location to film the train that I have never used.
Then we see another Norfolk Southern train go around the elevated curve. This was a different angle also. You can really see how the train leans into the curve as the end of the train passes.
After that another Norfolk Southern train comes around the curve. This train was transporting a freshly painted Geep locomotive. The unit is painted into the new CPKC lettering. This is for the new railroad merger and stands for Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway. Look how awesome the red and white locomotive looks! This train has 4 locomotives including a mid train DPU.
Another Norfolk Southern train was approaching northbound but has an air leak and stopped just south of Walton. I decided to leave and not wait for that one. The engineer told the dispatcher that they had 78 pounds pressure on the rear and 52 pounds on the flow. I don't know what that means exactly so maybe someone can explain it.
For my new subscribers I added a Norfolk Southern train being pulled by a single locomotive. This is a northbound train in Cincinnati, Ohio at the CSX and NS interchange. The train is taking the CSX Cincinnati Sub. This line is predominantly northbound running with a bunch of exceptions.
