Kifune Jinja Shrine is about an hour from Kyoto Station to the nearest station, Kifune-guchi, by train and bus. It is the head shrine of about 500 Kifune shrines throughout Japan, and as an ancient shrine located in the luxury resorts of Kyoto, many people visit there throughout the year.
Visitors can enjoy the seasonal scenery of Kifune Shrine, and the snowy winter scenery is truly magical and beautiful. Snow falling on the stone steps of the approach accentuates the vermilion color of the lanterns,
The vermilion that emerges from the monotone silence is breathtaking.
