Описание: This is a song about the failure of self-effort and finally choosing to look to God for the healing that I can't find in myself. Growing up as a church kid, I sometimes feel like I've been around the same things over and over again. I've heard the sermons, read the stories, sung the songs. But sometimes that can even lead to a self-righteous place of thinking... surely I should be able to overcome things in my own strength now? Yet more and more as I journey in faith I see that this is a journey of dependence, of leaning. Like Paul in Romans 7, I find myself constantly doing the things I don't want to do, and not doing the things I want to do. Running that loop can end up in a place where you just feel spiritually dry, unsure of how to pray, unsatisfied with yourself and with this striving after God. At some point you really just have to surrender to the fact that you don't have what it takes and the only hope we have is a saviour.
