HOW TO KNIT HATS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Описание: Learn how to knit easy ribbed hats for everyone on your list. See how easy it is to knit with circular needles. Step by step tutorial to knit the baby hat. All hats are made from the same pattern with slight variations of yarn, needle size and amount of cast on stitches. Reference chart for head sizes included!

Supply List:
-1 ball of Bernat Softee Baby Chunky #5 for Mommy & Baby hat
-1 ball Bernat Softee chunky #6 wine for Childs hat
-1-2 balls Bernat Softee Chunky #6 black for Dads hat
-16" US10 (6mm) bamboo circular needles for Mom, Dad & Child hats
-11" US 4 (3.5mm) circular needles. Found mine at Michaels.
-large eye blunt end darning needle
-scissors to cut yarn
-stitch marker

Level: Easy
Aprox. Time to complete for 1 hat: 3 to 4 hrs
K = Knit
P = Purl
Tog. = Together

KNITTED RIBBED HAT FOR MOM & BABY
Pattern for ADULT MOM & BABY instructions shown in the bracket ( )
ADULT MOM
16” (40.64cm) length. US 10 (6mm) circular needles
BABY
-11” (28cm) length. US 4 (3.5mm) circular needles
1 ball of bulky weight #5 yarn. I used Bernat Softee Baby Chunky in fluffy cloud white. 155 yds (142m). This will make the adult & baby hat!

Pattern:
ADULT with BABY sizing in bracket
-Cast on 64 (52) stitches
-Work in K2, P2 ribbing for your 64 (52) stitches. Join the round and continue K2,P2 ribbing in the round until you have 10” (25.4cm) 6” (15.24cm) in length or if you want a longer hat than keep knitting.

DECREASE FOR ADULT MOM HAT
Round 1: K2 tog., P2 Repeat to end of round. (48 stitches)
Round 2,3 & 4: K1, P2 repeat to end of round
Round 5: K1 P2 tog. repeat to end of round. (32 stitches)
Round 6: K1, P1 repeat to end of round
Round 7: K2 tog. repeat to end of round. (16 stitches)
Round 8: Knit all stitches to end of round

DECREASE FOR BABYS HAT
Round 1: K2 tog., P2 Repeat to end of round. (39 stitches)
Round 2: K1, P2 repeat to end of round
Round 3: K1 P2 tog. repeat to end of round. (26 stitches)
Round 4: K1, P1 repeat to end of round
Round 5: K2 tog. to end of round. (13 stitches)
Round 6: Knit all stitches to end of round
-Cut yarn leaving 12” (30.48cm) for closing up top and for adding a pom pom if desired.
-Thread needle with yarn and bring through all the stitches remaining on needle.
-Cinch up tightly to form top of hat. Thread yarn through the top stitches and form a knot and weave in end of yarn and cut.
-Weave in cast on end of yarn.

KNITTED RIBBED HAT FOR ADULT DAD & CHILD
Pattern for ADULT DAD and CHILD instructions shown in the bracket ( )
-16” (41cm) length. US 10 (6mm) circular needles
ADULT DAD HAT - 1 ball black Bernat Softee Chunky Bulky #6. Just enough for a 1”(2.5cm) brim. If you want a longer hat than you will have to buy 2 balls.
CHILDS HAT - 1 ball vino Bernat Softee Chunky Bulky #6.

Pattern:
ADULT DAD pattern with CHILD sizing in bracket ( )
-Cast on 60 (44) stitches
-Work in K2, P2 ribbing for your 60 (44) stitches. Join the round and continue K2,P2 ribbing in the round until you have 8” (25.4cm) in length or if you want a longer hat than keep knitting.

DECREASE FOR ADULT DAD HAT
Round 1: K2 tog., P2 Repeat to end of round. (45 stitches)
Round 2,3 & 4: K1, P2 repeat to end of round
Round 5: K1 P2 tog. repeat to end of round. (30 stitches)
Round 6: K1, P1 repeat to end of round
Round 7: K2 tog. repeat to end of round. (15 stitches)
Round 8: Knit all stitches to end of round

DECREASE FOR CHILDS HAT
Round 1: K2 tog., P2 Repeat to end of round. (33 stitches)
Round 2: K1, P2 repeat to end of round
Round 3: K1 P2 tog. repeat to end of round. (22 stitches)
Round 4: K1, P1 repeat to end of round
Round 5: K2 tog. to end of round. (11 stitches)
Round 6: Knit all stitches to end of round

-Cut yarn leaving 12” (30.48cm) for closing up top and for adding a pom pom if desired.
