Part THREE
The trusty Stihl 036 Pro wasn’t being so trusty anymore.
I did all the normal work: cleaned the carb, new plug, etc. Simply putting off the inevitable that it was a more serious problem. Well it turns out it was. The crank seal under the flywheel is leaking.
This video shows how to install the replacement crankshaft seal, ignition side, with a deep well socket.
After the seal is installed a quick pressure and vacuum test is performed on the crankcase to make sure the seal was installed correctly.
