US government shutdown: Federal workers turn to food banks to make ends meet

The US is now in its third week of a partial government shutdown. Republicans want to continue funding the government at current levels, but they need Democratic support in the Senate to do that. Democrats say they won't vote to reopen the government until Republicans agree to restore subsidies to help millions of Americans pay for health insurance.
