Achtung Baby es un disco muy oscuro, personal y maduro en el que se deja claro que la banda cambia radicalmente. Por eso sus letras hacen referencias constantes a la traición, deslealtad, ruptura... La forma que encontró Bono para hablar sobre la traición fue fijarse en la mayor traición de la historia, la de Judas a Jesús. Bono compuso una primera idea con la guitarra y The Edge la terminó de dar forma. La letra está muy influenciada por el escritor Irlandés Brendan Kennelly y su libro "Book of Judas". Inicialmente fue un encargo del cineasta alemán Wim Wenders para una de sus películas. Le gustó tanto el resultado que incluso le puso el título de la canción a su película. La banda decidió quedarse la canción e incluirla en el disco. Toda la canción es una conversación entre Jesús y Judas en la que aparecen referencias a la última cena, al beso de Judas y el arrepentimiento final. En el tercer y último verso podemos presenciar el tormento de Judas por la traición y sus pesadillas. El sentimiento de culpa es abrumador y Judas tiene ganas de morir como si fuera el fin del mundo. Sonido contundente y eléctrico con un solo excepcional de The Edge que nos lleva a un final explosivo y loco en el que Bono y The Edge luchan escenificando una batalla entre el bien y el mal.

Treason! We continue with another of the most emblematic songs of the entire U2 discography. Achtung Baby is a very dark, personal and mature album in which it is clear that the band changes radically. That is why his lyrics make constant references to treason, disloyalty, rupture ... The way that Bono found to talk about treason was to look at the greatest treason in history: Judas and Jesus. Bono composed a first idea with the guitar and The Edge finished shaping it. The lyrics are heavily influenced by Irish writer Brendan Kennelly and his book "Book of Judas". Initially it was commissioned by the German filmmaker Wim Wenders for one of his films. He liked the result so much that he even gave the title of the song to his movie. The band decided to keep the song and include it on the album. The entire song is a conversation between Jesus and Judas in which references to the Last Supper, Judas' kiss, and final repentance appear. In the third and last verse we can witness Judas' torment for treason and his nightmares. The feeling of guilt is overwhelming and Judas wants to die as if it were the end of the world. Powerful, electric sound with an exceptional solo from The Edge that takes us to an explosive and crazy ending in which Bono and The Edge fight staging a battle between good and evil.
