In 2022, The Riverside Church embarked on an ambitious four-year stained glass restoration project, encompassing 53 historic windows and more than 12,000 square feet of glass.
This short video follows the process — from scaffolding and careful removal, to restoration in specialized studios, and the precise reinstallation of each window.
Now fully restored, the stained glass once again fills Riverside’s sanctuary with light. The project has been selected to receive a 2025 Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award, recognizing excellence in historic preservation.
