A striking new sedan concept will be revealed at the Japan Mobility Show on October 29, and while it's being called a design study, the details suggest something close to production.

It’s unmistakably labeled “Corolla” on the back, but with sharp angles, a fully closed front grille, and wide light bars, it looks nothing like the current model. It also features subtle vents near the windshield and bumper to improve aerodynamics—a design approach similar to the Polestar 3 and Dodge Charger EV.

Though Toyota hasn’t confirmed plans, the presence of realistic elements like standard door handles, side mirrors, and a charging port hint this may be more than just a concept. It may also be aimed at global markets, potentially as the international counterpart to the China-only bZ3 electric sedan.

If it launches, the electric Corolla could go head-to-head with the Tesla Model 3 and Polestar 2 in the compact electric sedan segment. We'll find out more once Toyota pulls the cover off later this month.
