Step into 1914 with one of the smallest and most fascinating vehicles ever built, the IMP Cyclecar Model Z. Costing just $375 when new, this tiny machine blurred the line between motorcycle and automobile. Its ingenious variable friction-drive CVT transmission offered “a thousand speeds,” long before modern CVTs appeared in cars like Subarus.
Built during America’s brief cyclecar craze (1913-1914), the IMP was among the higher-quality models, a testament to lightweight engineering and frontier innovation. An IMP is one of the only known cyclecars to be brought to Alaska for use as snowmobiles in Nome!
