Spring striper season is starting on the Sacramento River! In this video I head out to Garcia Bend for my first striped bass trip of the year to see if the fish have started their annual spring run. Reports say stripers are moving through the river, so I set up two rods with blood worms and pile worms to try and land the first keeper of the season.

I show my full Sacramento River striper setup, including a sliding sinker rig with 65 lb braid, 25 lb mono leader, and a 5/0 circle hook. I also explain how I search for fish by casting in different directions until I find where they are.

After moving my casts around and checking bait frequently, I finally hook into a 24-inch keeper striped bass — the first keeper of the season!
