This was a very decent 10 miles in Cambridgeshire, undertaken on a misty afternoon as the forecast sunshine didn't appear. There was a slight SE breeze.
The village of Fulbourn is reached by the number 1 bus from Cambridge station after around 30 minutes, stopping close to the pub and the church.
A visit is made to the 7th century Fleam Dyke, built to defend Anglia from the Mercians
The walker takes advantage of a seat next to Memory Wood (to remember the Covid struggles) for lunch. Then, there's a walk along a Roman road to Wandlebury Country park, near the Gog Magog hills, so this walk isn't entirely flat, with 285 feet being recorded today.
The paths were good, though the dykes weren't, reflecting pressures on the water table. This was a tranquil walk, full of bird-song.
P.S. The bird seen at Memory Wood is believed to be a Corn Bunting.
