Costa Rica Digital Nomad Visa: All you need to know

Описание: Did you know Costa Rica has a digital nomad visa option?

Here is what you need to know about this visa!

**Visa is valid for 1 year and can be renewed for up to a 2nd year (no more than that at this time)
**You must show an income of at least $3,000 USD / month as an individual filer or $4,000 / month for a family for the last 12 months.
Family qualifies as: (spouse, children, elderly family member who lives with you): Common law marriage is accepted
**If you are filing as family, there will be one main applicant and the rest of the filers will be dependents on the application - they will be looking at the sole income of the main applicant
**Your income will be verified by your last 12 months of bank statements (employment letter or tax returns) - so they will be looking at your net income in your bank account
**Your work must be able to be done remotely and immigration may ensure the nature of your work is remote
**The visa is for 1 year and you may renew it for a second year as long as you’ve stayed in the country for at least 180 days of the first year, will need to show the same income requirements to renew

Final thoughts:
***Please don’t confuse this with a residency category, this is just a visa option and does not allow you to import items/vehicles tax free
****If you qualify, this is a nice starter visa before filing residency
