Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB.N) delivered strong performance in the first half of 2025, demonstrating robust growth across key metrics and reinforcing its position as one of Sri Lanka's leading financial institutions. The bank crossed the Rs 2.5 trillion asset milestone while maintaining excellent asset quality and strong capital buffers.

Key Metrics for 6 Months Ended June 30, 2025:

• Group assets surpassed Rs 2.5 trillion, reflecting 13.7% growth
• Group Profit After Tax grew 42.5% to Rs 23.16 billion
• Bank Profit After Tax increased 37.9% to Rs 21.19 billion
• Net loans and advances grew by Rs 137.6 billion
• Deposit base expanded by approximately Rs 160 billion, reaching Rs 1.9 trillion
• Net Interest Income remained stable at Rs 45.6 billion despite margin pressures
• Net Fee and Commission Income surged 19.7% year-on-year
• Exchange income jumped to Rs 2.8 billion vs loss of Rs 1.3 billion in 2024
• Asset quality improved with Net Stage 3 ratio at 1.59% vs 1.88% in December 2024
• Stage 3 coverage ratio maintained at strong 74.88%
• Impairment reversal of Rs 5.1 billion vs charge of Rs 1.5 billion in 2024
• Tier 1 Capital Adequacy Ratio at 18.42%, well above 9.5% regulatory minimum
• Total Capital Adequacy Ratio at 22.46%, exceeding 13.5% requirement
• Basic earnings per share increased 38% to Rs 37.05
• Return on Equity at 17.78%

HNB maintains its AA-(lka) credit rating from Fitch and continues to be recognized among the "Top 1000 Banks in the World" by The Banker Magazine. The bank was also awarded "Best Bank for Large Corporates" at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2025 and "Best Retail Bank in Sri Lanka" by The Asian Banker for the 15th time.
