In this video, I explain the seven key steps an executor should take after receiving the Grant of Probate, from collecting the estate’s assets through to preparing the estate accounts and paying the beneficiaries safely.

The Grant of Probate gives an executor authority to deal with the estate. However, it does not necessarily mean the estate is ready to distribute. Paying beneficiaries too early could leave an executor personally responsible for unpaid debts, tax or claims.
