Elinor Young was nine years old when she first heard God's whisper about being a missionary. Weakened by Polio as a child, it seemed like an impossible dream. But in 1975 Elinor reached Papua to begin linguistic and translation work among the Kimyal people. During her 17 years there, she watched he church grow and leaders mature in their handling of God's Word. The Kimyal gave Elinor a name meaning "Bad Legs", saying "God brought you here with your bad legs and he has kept you here with your bad legs." Elinor's weakness was a symbol to the Kimyal of how much God loved them!
Some doubted Elinor's calling to missions, but whom the Lord calls, he uses!
