Over the past summer, the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church's youth group travelled to Mbale, Uganda to serve the orphans in Lulwanda Children's home. The orphanage is home to roughly 120 children ranging from the ages of 3 to 18. The children's home was founded in 2004 in response to the large number of orphans due to the HIV and AIDS epidemic. Approximately 1.5 million people in Uganda have AIDS. Lulwanda's goal is to grow and reach as many orphans as possible, providing them with a loving environment where they can grow spiritually and physically. You can help support Lulwanda Children's home in their mission by making donations, sponsoring a child, or even praying over the orphanage. The mission of MDPC's youth team was to support the Lulwanda Children's home staff as well as evangelize to the neighboring villages.
