Daniel Andrews chose a ‘confusing’ candidate for Vic Governor

Описание: Vic Premier Daniel Andrews' announcement that Monash University’s Vice-Chancellor Margaret Gardner will be the next Governor of Victoria is “confusing”, says Institute of Public Affairs Executive Director John Roskam.

“It’s another example of how the Andrews Government is politicising everything in Victoria,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“I find it confusing that an avowed Republican … will take on this job because it’s a job responsible ultimately to the Monarch King Charles.

“She’s willing to make clearly political statements – when you say something like ‘I’m standing on unseeded land’ then you are making a clear political statement that has no role whatsoever coming from the Governor.”
