Shirō Sagisu + Yui Morishita - 'Quatre Mains' - Evangelion: 3.33/3.0 You Can (Not) Redo

Описание: This beautiful piece is one that plays in the movie ‘Evangelion 3.33/3.0 You can (not) redo’ directed by Hideaki Anno, Masayuki, Mashiro Maeda, and Kazuya Tsurumaki. This piece plays in the movie when Shinji and Kaworu are playing the piano together. This video presents Yui Morishita’s arrangement of the piece. Originally the piece was a duet, but Yui has transcribed it into a solo arrangement. This piece in is C major and played at a tempo of 160 BPM. It starts in the time signature 2/4 for 37 bars until it reaches bar 38 where is changes 4/4. Bar 41 features some interesting evocative chord progressions which are unusual for the major scale (C major, C diminished 7, G major, G minor, F major, F minor). The piece borrows from the parallel minor using chords like G minor and F minor, the descending chromatic line is mainly what ties the chords together.

The left hand in the original piece at bars 43 – 47 feature spaced out arpeggios of the chord progression (Reaching as far as G#0 to C3), but in Yui Morishita’s arrangement, there are broken chords even further apart (reaching as far as Bb0 to D4). The most impressive part is definitely bar 75-78, because of the extreme jumps in the left hand and the concentration required to do so.
