Pakistan, Egypt Deepen Military Ties | COAS Munir Meets Top Egyptian Leadership in Cairo

Описание: Pakistan’s Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening defence and military cooperation with Egypt, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday (October 23).

During his official visit to Cairo, Field Marshal Munir met with Egypt’s Defence Minister General Abdul Maged Saqar and Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa Fatehi. Talks focused on mutual security, regional stability, and bilateral defence collaboration.

The COAS was presented with a Guard of Honour at Egypt’s Ministry of Defence and laid floral wreaths at the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier and the tomb of former President Anwar Sadat.

Munir also met Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed El Tayeb, where discussions centred on countering extremist ideologies and promoting unity across the Muslim world.

The visit underscores Pakistan’s growing efforts to expand strategic and defence ties within the Muslim world, building on recent cooperation between Cairo and Islamabad in maritime and industrial sectors.
