ALAGÖZ | Azerbaijani Orchestral Jazz Arrangement

Описание: “Alagöz” is one of the most beloved Azerbaijani melodies of the 20th century, composed by Jahangir Jahangirov, one of Azerbaijan’s most influential composers.
The piece carries strong folkloric roots while reflecting the lyrical and emotional language of Azerbaijani classical music.
In this version, “Alagöz” is reimagined as an orchestral jazz arrangement, blending Azerbaijani modal colors with rich jazz harmony, acoustic piano textures, warm brass orchestration, and expressive swing phrasing, while preserving the emotional depth and melodic identity of Jahangirov’s original composition.
This piece is part of the Silk Road Jazz project — a musical journey that reinterprets classical and traditional melodies from Iran, Azerbaijan, the Arab world, and the Silk Road regions through the language of contemporary jazz orchestration.
This work is an orchestral, instrumental performance and does not include any copyrighted vocal recordings.
