OoT - Swordless DoT Skip - Quick Reference

Описание: This video is part of a series of reference videos for various tricks that may be encountered during a Max% Adult (and other) runs.

This tutorial is for clipping through the Door of Time (Swordless) early.
It is required for Max% Adult routes that skip acquiring the Kokiri Sword.

Special Note: There was a problem with the set up of my recording software, causing the video to be clipped on the right and bottom sides. Although the problem has been fixed, I didn't want to re-record all of the video for this tutorial. (It will be fixed in future tutorials.)


= Getting the correct position and angle =

Setup One:
1. Tap Down on the Control Stick to turn around. Then Z/L Target.
2. Walk Backwards a bit.
3. Sidehop Right once.
4. Walk Backwards past the altar.
5. Backflip into the corner.
6. Without releasing Z/L, tap A to roll.
7. During the roll, release Z/L.
8. Tap Down to face the DoT. (WITHOUT Retargeting)
9. Then, tap Left to face the DoT's frame. NOW Retarget.
10. Backflip to ensure you are in the corner.

Setup Two:
1. Target the diagonal wall next to the entrance.
2. Sidehop Right once.
3. Roll. (Retarget during the roll)
4. Barely hold Down to start walking Backwards.
5. After a step or two, Roll again. (Retarget during the roll)
6. Without releasing Target, make your way to the DoT.
7. Get into the corner.

Setup Three:
1. Get into the corner. (face the DoT's frame)
2. Target and then release Target. (this resets the camera)
3. Before the camera moves too much, hit C-Up.
4. Align as shown in the video.


= Fixing the position or angle =

If you screw up your position, simply backflip into the corner to fix it.
If you screw up your angle, fix it with the latter half of Setup One or with Setup Three.


= Clipping through the DoT =

1. Hold Down (or Down-Down-Left) just a bit.
2. Tap A to roll. If you're holding the Control Stick correctly, Link will perform a Sideroll.
3. While rolling, jam the Control Stick all the way Down (or Down-Down-Left).
4. When Link is just about to come up from the Sideroll, press A again to perform a Sideflip. (Timing is everything)
5. As soon as possible after starting the Sideflip, release ALL input (including the Control Stick)
6. A few frames later, on the frame where you can see the DoT at a weird angle, Retarget.
7. A few MORE frames later, jam the Control Stick all the way Left.

Note: Button mashing for the Sideflip can make it harder to release all inputs in time when performing this trick unbuffered.
