A spectacular live performance of the hoike, "HO'OULU - INSPIRE" recorded Feb 22, 2015 in Hofu, Japan.
Produced by Kumu Hula Kawika Keikiali'ihiwahiwa Alfiche and Sensei Michiko Mimura, the stunning visual and musical production depicts the evolution of hula from its earliest days in Hawai'i, through the hapa haole years of the 20th century, to the modern era.
Included in the concert are many of Kawika's original songs, including Na Manu'ia, Hoi Hou Mai and White Ships, plus classics like Ei Nei and Waikiki.
Hula dancers are from Hālau o Keikiali'i of South San Francisco, and Hālau o Leiwehihiwahiwa and "Big Moe" of Japan
