On a whim, I was reaching out to a lot of local businesses and festivals about performance opportunities. A mall close to me said "sure, we have openings." I decided to take a chance. This was, I believe, the first time I have ever brought my own equipment and set up. It was a bit of a struggle making it inside with my heavy amp but we made it. There also wasn't a ton of foot traffic, which made it a bit awkward to start. However, I quickly grew comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed my time performing. It was definitely something different from what I normally do but I had a lot of fun! One of the keys to being a musician/performer is rolling with the punches and never knowing what to expect, which was exactly what I did. Also, I think (somehow) this was my first time ever performing Christmas music! Despite growing up with these songs my whole life, most of my performances are not around the holidays so that made this extra special.
