Описание: The final leg of Free Spirit's journey down the Canal de la Somme takes us from Abbeville to St. Valery-sur-Somme on the Canal Maritime. The bridges there get operated by hand by the extremly helpful and friendly canal staff. From St. Valery as a home base we discovered the tidal Baie de Somme (up to 9m tide range). There is a Steam train going to La Crotoy but the distance is also easily covered by bicycle. Having reached the North Sea after 123km from the Canal du Nord Free Spirit turned around and cruised all the way back. An unforgettable experience !
