Whip up the perfect Yorkshire puddings with this simple recipe!
Ingredients:
100g/3½oz plain flour
¼ tsp salt
3 large free-range eggs (consider adding an extra one if your eggs aren't large)
225ml/8fl oz milk
4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil or lard
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 220C/200C Fan/Gas 7.
2. In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Create a well in the centre, add eggs and a bit of milk. Whisk until smooth, gradually adding the remaining milk. For easier mixing, use an electric hand-held whisk or a wooden spoon. Transfer the batter into a jug.
3. In a 12-bun tray, add a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil or lard to each hole (or a tablespoonful in a 4-hole tin, or 3 tablespoons in a roasting tin). Place in the oven for 5 minutes or until the oil is piping hot.
4. Carefully remove from the oven, evenly pour the batter into the holes or tin, and swiftly return to the oven. Bake for 20–25 minutes (35 if using a roasting tin) until golden-brown and well-risen. Serve immediately.
