I flew into Barcelona and headed straight for the mountains on January 2nd — because I couldn’t wait any longer to get back out exploring. This year, I’m taking every single one of you with me.
In –14°C temperatures, I climbed through forgotten castles and abandoned châteaux hidden across northern Spain and southern France. Frozen stone walls, silent halls, and places time has completely abandoned — all just days into 2026.
We’re barely into the new year and I’ve already ticked off two major European countries… so the question is: how many more can we explore together before the year is out?
But this journey isn’t just about abandoned buildings. Between the explores, come with me to experience the food, the culture, and the raw, authentic moments you’d never normally see — the real places between the postcards.
