At the first meeting of the new Security Council reform working group, Ambassador Sun Lei, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Permanent Mission to the United Nations, stated that the revival of Japanese militarism poses a threat to international peace and security, and that Japan is fundamentally unqualified to become a permanent member of the Security Council.
