Structural damage was visible to a home at 1111 W. Cross Street in Ypsilanti where police engaged in a 30-hour standoff with a man armed with a sword from Sunday, Jan. 5 to Monday, Jan. 6, seen on Wednesday, Jan. 7. The man eventually surrendered without injury, according to police.
Police were seen using heavy equipment to demolish the home's porch awning and rip bricks out of the second floor facade and spraying water into the building with a fire hose.
