Welcome to VIENNA, the World's Music Capital. As a music lover, I feel blessed to be able to be back here again. This time, I will spend the whole trip in Vienna only, so it is a great opportunity to explore the music scenes and sites here. Let's come explore with me.

***Johann Strauss Monument

Vienna is a place that has created many of the world's music geniuses for centuries. One of them is Johann Strauss, the composer of the popular 'Blue Danube', one of the most played masterpieces in classical music. The statue of Johann Strauss is here in the park full of lush green trees and flowers. This is a place that you should spend your time absorbing the beautiful surroundings.

***Mozart Monument

'Mozart' has created a lot of masterpieces in his lifetime of only 35 years. Born in Salzburg, he started to compose music at the age of 5. He then travelled to perform around Austria, Italy, France, and Germany. He was a music icon for later generations of classical musicians.

***House of Music

This House of Music is in a historical place of Archduke Karl and is open from 10AM until 10PM every day, giving a chance for all walks of people to be able to visit, see, feel, learn, and even create the sounds of music themselves. After 8PM, the admission ticket fee is discounted too. This is a place where you can learn the lives of many of the world's most talented music composers. Moreover, the displays are consisted of games, screens, and headphones, so it is easy for visitors to be able to understand and absorb the feelings of being a musician or a music composer.


***The University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna

I intentionally wanted to be here because King Bhumibol of Thailand is among the honourable members here. King Bhumibol paid a royal visit to Vienna in 1964, and at that time, His Majesties' songs were played on the radio here and were played by an orchestra at Vienna State Opera House. Thai people are very proud and we would love you to listen to some of the songs composed by our beloved King.

***Vienna State Opera House

Built in 1869, Vienna State Opera House is one of the world's leading opera houses. At present, the venue is full of performances and events. Every night, you can witness world-class artists alongside the permanent ensemble members on the stage and at the conductor's desk, accompanied by a unique orchestra whose members at the same time make up the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

***Albertinaplatz & Albertina Museum

This square around the Opera House is called 'Albertina Square' or 'Albertinaplatz'. You can take an escalator to Albertina Museum and from the big terrace in front of the museum is one of the most popular viewpoints in Vienna, where we can clearly see Vienna State Opera House and some other stunningly beautiful buildings around.

***Alt & Neu Music Shop

If you are a movie fan, you might have heard of the 1994 movie - "Before Sunrise", starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. The whole movie was filmed here in Vienna and yes, one of the locations is here - Alt & Neu Music Shop. Although, we can hardly find shops that sell music CDs and vinyl records nowadays, we can still find them here in Vienna. This is a charm of this music capital city.

***Live Music at Oktoberfest

I happened to be here in October when there is a big celebration of 'Oktoberfest'. This big event is held in Prater, an area where there is a legendary amusement park of Vienna. The event lasts for a week, and if you come during the day time, you don't need to buy a ticket. That is why I see a lot of adult visitors spend their time here with good friends, beer, food, and of course, live music!
