This video is a pictorial of my Extreme Flight 74" Yak-54
after it crashed and through the course of repairs.
What happened?
Last summer I got inspired to fly the Yak low and as slow
as possible. There was some wind and of course I forgot.
At the end of the field I turned to the right (out of the wind)
and added power only to find myself in stall. The Yak was
up about 25 feet it went in hard into tall grass just missing a fence.
I was devastated thinking it was a total loss Other club members
thought the same thing and came to help bring in the pieces..
When we got to the crash site we were very surprised to find
the damage relatively minor with the left wing pushed into the side
of the fuse and the spar broken.
Total cost of repairs was about $120.00 and was back in the air
within 4 days.
