Luke 2:21–40 introduces us to four ordinary believers—Mary, Joseph, Simeon, and Anna—each facing real limitations that could have easily become excuses. A young couple with financial strain, an elderly man waiting on God’s promise, and a widowed prophetess advanced in years. Yet every one of them chose obedience over hesitation. They trusted God when it would have been easier to hold back, and their faith became part of the moment when Jesus was presented, blessed, and proclaimed in the Temple.
Their stories remind us that your limitations aren’t God’s limitations. Whatever season you’re in—young or old, strong or weary, secure or struggling—you can choose to trust, follow, and serve Jesus today. God delights in using ordinary, overlooked people to accomplish His extraordinary purposes.
