Leonardo da Vinci was one of the greatest and most creative figures in the history of art and one of the most brilliant minds of the Italian Renaissance. In addition to painting and sculpture, he possessed extraordinary genius in fields such as engineering, architecture, science, and invention.
He was born on April 15, 1452, near the town of Vinci in Tuscany. In Florence, he trained as an apprentice under the renowned sculptor and painter Andrea del Verrocchio, where his remarkable talent quickly set him apart as an outstanding artist of his time.
While working in Milan for the Sforza family, Leonardo created the enduring masterpiece “The Last Supper” between 1495 and 1497. After returning to Florence, he painted the iconic “Mona Lisa,” which became one of the most famous and celebrated artworks in the history of art.
Leonardo spent the final years of his life in Milan, Rome, and later in France, where he died in 1519. His legacy continues to inspire artists, scholars, and thinkers around the world.
