Ongoing Texas Panhandle Wildfires | 4:15 PM Update

Описание: A dangerous wildfire outbreak is underway across the Southern Great Plains, with multiple large fires burning across the Texas Panhandle this afternoon.

At 4:15 PM CT, we are tracking:

• A dangerous wildfire north of Goodnight along Highway 287 moving east-northeast toward Howardwick – evacuation orders issued
• A large fire between Channing and Vega near Highway 385 moving toward northwest Potter County
• A fire west of Higgins near Highway 213 moving east at 3–5 mph
• A new developing hotspot southwest of Stratford
• Major fires also burning in western Oklahoma and southern Kansas

The Amarillo Emergency Management Agency has issued a voluntary evacuation for areas northwest of Amarillo. The county sheriff has issued evacuation orders for Howardwick and residents north of Howardwick.

Winds are expected to decrease after sunset, but humidity will remain low. Critical fire danger returns Wednesday and Thursday, meaning any fires not contained today could rapidly spread again.
