In the West family of Gloucester, UK, 25 Cromwell Street, it was an open secret - perversely sometimes called a family joke - that Heather, the eldest child of Fred and Rose West, had been disobedient to them and had paid the ultimate price – her life.


The younger West children would be told that they would end up under the patio, like Heather if they displeased their parents, a story that would be often repeated to friends and at school.

Both Fred West and Rosemary West (Letts as was) came from highly abuse backgrounds. Both of them are said to have been sexually abused by their parents and family members.

Between them they would kidnap, torture and murder over 10 women and children from 8 years to 21.
