Various criminal courts in Kerala had directed the collection of DNA samples of adopted children.
This was done to serve as evidence against rape accused.
On July 5, the Kerala High Court stayed the orders passed by the criminal courts.
The move has been widely welcomed by adoption agencies, and scores of adoptive parents.
The parents couldn’t care less for the circumstances that begot their new child.
Experts say DNA profiling should never be allowed.
They argue it stigmatises the child and is not even needed to conclude rape.
