Joanna Barker (Audiologist, Specialist in Tinnitus, Hyperacusis and Misophonia Rehabilitation) will be hosting this Patient Education online meeting. This meeting is planned for 24th February 2025, 7.00PM to 8.00 PM (UK time). Our guest speakers will be Tana Carson and Angela Medina.
Tana Carson (PhD, OT) and Angela Medina (PhD, CCC-SLP) are going to be sharing with us their presentation ‘More Than Covering Ears: Recent Advances in Assessing and Addressing Decreased Sound Tolerance in Children with Autism’.
In this talk Tana and Angela will be discussing with us recent advances in assessing decreased sound tolerance for Children with Autism including their work on screening tools for hyperacusis and misophonia and a checklist for treatment planning. They will also share with us a modified cognitive behavioural therapy approach and a clinical case report.
There will be the chance to ask Tana and Angela any questions, so please join live to get her expert opinion on noise sensitivity.
