Asylum seekers, living and working in the United States while they wait for immigration hearings, often sign bond agreements that release them — at least temporarily — from detention centers. But Alberto Mendoza says that he was given an agreement that, while clear in English (a language he does not speak), is misleading in Spanish... and it's caused him to pay hundreds of dollars that he couldn't afford and required him to wear an ankle monitor.
