Join Elevate SoCal as we take you up close and personal in Bananaland with Jackson Olson, Kyle "KJ" Jackson, Ty Jackson, Biko Skalla, Dakota "Stilts" Albritton, and Reese "Superman" Alexiades. Plus, our coverage continues across our social media channels, our websites, and in Elevate Magazine!
What is Banana Ball really about? In this multi-player interview, members of the Savannah Bananas open up about fame, second chances, and how the game continues to evolve into what many call “the greatest show in sports.”
Kyle “KJ” Jackson shares how he stays grounded amid newfound fame — leaning on teammates as his foundation and refusing to let attention change who he is.
Jackson Olson reflects on going from “Shortstop Jackson Olson” to a full-scale performer. Starting TikTok in 2020 helped him overcome extreme shyness — once too nervous to speak in front of five people. Now he dances, lip-syncs, and performs confidently for massive crowds. After rupturing a disc that left him unable to do many everyday activities, he calls Banana Ball his second chance.
Dakota, known as the world’s tallest Banana Ball player, talks about bringing smiles to fans (and constantly hearing, “How’s the weather up there?”). A theater performance minor, he always wanted to entertain — and now does it on the field. His advice? Don’t rush a leap of faith. Have a plan before doing something big.
Ty Jackson brings unmatched energy to the team. Owner of a pet snake and nicknamed “Big Back” and “Pooky,” he keeps fans and teammates laughing while helping spread joy wherever the team travels.
You’ll also hear about:
• The rapid evolution of Banana Ball — faster, crazier, more acrobatic every year
• The expansion to more teams (Savannah Bananas, Firefighters, Party Animals, Texas Tailgaters, Loco Beach Coconuts, Indianapolis Clowns)
• The upcoming Banana Ball Championship League
• Breaking down barriers between fans and players
• Why players call it the most fun you can have on a baseball field
From collegiate stadiums with 4,000 fans to crowds of 45,000 in Anaheim, the growth has been surreal — and, as the players say, a true blessing.
This isn’t just baseball. It’s joy in motion.
