Joe Pullum was a blues singer from Houston, Tx. From April, 1934 until February, 1936 he recorded thirty sides for the Bluebird Records label. He was best known for his hit "Black Gal What Makes Your Head So Hard". While most of the records were double-sided issues under his name, he did share discs from time to time with pianists Rob Cooper and Doctor Clayton. Pullum disappeared from the music scene until 1951 when he turned up in Los Angeles, CA. He recorded one double-sided record with Lloyd Glenn on piano and a band of unknown musicians for the Swing Time label. It would be his last recording and he was never heard from again.
