In a similar development, 542 members of the Nigerian Armed Forces have transitioned to civilian life. At a ceremony held at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in Oshodi, Lagos, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Olufemi Oluyemi, urged retirees to uphold discipline, ethical conduct, and patriotism as they serve their communities.
The event, attended by top military officials including Major General Calvin Liebig and Air Vice Marshal Basheer Mamman, celebrated personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, who completed a six-month pre-retirement training program.
