PIPELINE is COVERED in SAND! | What I Learned PULLING SOMEONE from a RIP CURRENT

Anticipating a very large Pipeline swells arrival, we are thrown some curveballs due to all the sand covering the reef! BUT, that makes for some special sandbar tubes, and a HUGE rip current that sucks a bodyboarder out to 2nd reef pipeline at sunset. I share about what I learned from going out & paddling him back in, and what I DID WRONG that led to a poor rescue job on my part. Though the outcome was fine, and his life was never in danger, I learned a valuable lesson when it comes to rescuing someone in a situation over their head.
