Three soldiers moved through the dust and noise, trained to advance even when fear clawed at their ribs. They had learned to trust each other with their lives.

Then the explosions came.

Two fell in seconds; shouts cut short, bodies unmoving. The third survived, though part of him stayed behind in that moment. He kept fighting, kept breathing, but the images burned into him.
Days later, the war didn’t stay in front of him. It replayed behind his eyes. Every sound became a memory. Every silence is filled with faces that never made it out. He saw them when he closed his eyes. He heard them when he tried to sleep.
He told himself soldiers were supposed to endure. That pain was weakness. That survival meant carrying it alone.
When the weight became unbearable, he believed the war had already taken everything that mattered.
He took his own life, another casualty not counted in battle reports.

PTSD doesn’t always show itself immediately. Suicide is not a failure; it is the result of untreated wounds.
War kills in many ways. Awareness, support, and speaking up can save lives.

No one should fight the war inside alone.
