First of all, this video is to explain how to use the #compressor part, we will not talk about the controls in the collapsible part below.

First use THRESHOLD to affect a good amount of the signal. Take a look at the needle until it is between 5 and 10 decibels of gain reduction. Of course you can exaggerate this amount as much as you want to hear the effects even more (especially if you are new to compressors) but this could lead to misleading results.

Now use #COMPRESSION to find the flavor you are looking for. This control is nothing more than RATIO: high values produce higher energy transients and a harder whip sound (Tip: it sounds great in parallel!!). Lower values of COMPRESSION help control dynamics in a more transparent way.

Once you find the ideal value of COMPRESSION, adjust THRESHOLD again until the compressor affects the desired amount of signal. With this particular device a little bit goes a long way.

Now compare the volume of the track with the plugin in BYPASS with that of the effect and use OUTPUT to match the level to UNITY GAIN and don't forget to listen in context all the time!
