Paragon Ragtime Orchestra bassist COREY SCHUTZER performs Adolf Lotter's 1913 novelty solo "The Ragtime Bassplayer" accompanied by PRO conducted by founder Rick Benjamin. This delightful and unusual piece features the double bass as a melodic - and virtuosic - solo voice, freeing it momentarily from its usual place in the theater orchestra's rhythm section. This performance was made using Lotter's orginal orchestration, which was recovered from a warehouse in 1985 by Mr. Benjamin.
