How To Install Linux On Your PC | Dual Booting

Ubuntu is a Debian-based Linux operating system for personal computers, tablets and smartphones, where Ubuntu touch is used. Ubuntu is the most popular operating system running in hosted environments, so–called "clouds", as it is the most popular server Linux distribution.
Installation Note :-
1. You need to boot your system for installing an OS & for booting you need an external device like DVD or pendrive. In the tutorial I have shown via DVD.
2. None of your data will be erased during this installation process since we will be doing dual booting. After installation you can use your windows and Linux OS at a time simultaneously.
3. You need atleast 20 gb of free space in your C drive for installation. For other requirements check the Ubuntu website.

Steps for Installation :-
1. First of all you need a burning tool to burn the Ubuntu file in DVD. There are many available. You can use any. I have used a free available iso burner. Download it from the internet.

2. Download the Ubuntu LTS ‘iso’ file from the website of Ubuntu. Follow the tutorial for doubts.

3. Insert a blank disc and burn the Ubuntu iso file in your dvd.
4. Restart the system.
5. Insert the boot menu. (Generally the shortcut is F8 or F11. It may vary according to motherboard). In the boot menu select DVD ROM as boot device and setup starts.
6. Follow the setup. Select your language and press Install Ubuntu.
7. Now press continue.
8. Select the amount of space you want to give to your Ubuntu OS. Note it should be minimum 20GB.
9. Press continue.
10. Select Your keybord layout which is English US. You can check whether it is working correct or not. Space provided for the same. Then press continue
11. Chose a Username and a password and press continue.
12. Wait for the Installation to complete.
